Seeking a full time MRI Technologist to join a great team in New Mexico.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Radiology Tech III is responsible for performing diagnostic resonance imaging procedures for patients who require MRI services. S/he follows pain management protocols, and maintains adequate records and supplies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable.

  • Performs diagnostic medical resonance imaging procedures, which include a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative according to patient age, mental, and physical capabilities.
  • Assesses patient needs relevant to MRI procedures.
  • Reviews safety questionnaire and consistently follows safety standards applicable to MRI.
  • Stocks rooms and Department with adequate supplies, and maintains an orderly working area.
  • Prints patient film as requested.
  • Explains procedures and answers patients’ questions.
  • Maintains adequate records as directed, to ensure safety and proper care of patients and diagnostic quality of images.
  • Maintains and records all pertinent information needed to complete patient care for all systems.
  • Follows hospital policy regarding pain management and the use of restraints for patients.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of PACS system and MediTech.
  • Provides clinical instruction to students and precepts new Techs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Current ARRT certification
  • Current New Mexico license
  • AHA BLS certification within 3 months of hire

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • One year appropriate MRI experience preferred
  • Willingness to cross train in other modalities highly preferred
  • Computer proficiency required
