Our client in the Boston area is seeking a Technical Director for the Microbiology Lab. The ideal candidate has two years of experience and is ASCP certified as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.

Responsibilities of the Technical Director for the Microbiology Lab:

• Responsible for the daily operations of specific clinical laboratories.
• Establishes technical and administrative standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards for all lab personnel; monitors compliance and initiates action to improve or maintain laboratory performance in consultation with Medical Director and Lab Administration
• Establishes technical and analytical standards for method and instrument evaluation in accordance with the hospital and clinical laboratory's policies and procedures and regulatory standards
• Responsible for policies and procedures for specimen handling, specimen processing, test analyses, and reporting of patient results

Requirements for the Technical Director for the Microbiology Lab:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an accredited college or university, 4 years training/experience in high complexity testing
• ASCP Certification
• Five years of supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory. Specific experience in one or more disciplines may be required
• Masters degree preferred
