Medical Laboratory Technologist – Charlotte, North Carolina | 3rd Shift | Direct Hire
Are you a dedicated Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician looking to join a fast-paced, collaborative team? This full-time, 3rd shift opportunity (6:30 pm – 7:00 am, three 12-hour shifts including every 3rd weekend) is available with a leading healthcare provider in the Charlotte metro area. Job Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely laboratory testing to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Key duties include:
- Performing clinical laboratory analysis on received specimens with precision and accuracy
- Following established testing procedures and quality assurance guidelines, documenting corrective actions as needed
- Preparing reagents, managing supplies, and reducing departmental waste/expenses
- Exercising clinical judgment to prioritize and troubleshoot test systems, escalating when necessary
- Performing and documenting preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment
- Supporting compliance with CAP, TJC, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Communicating effectively across shifts and with leadership to ensure smooth operations and patient safety
- Participating in staff meetings, training, and change initiatives to improve workflow and quality outcomes
- Assisting with review and revision of procedures, competency assessments, and accreditation documentation
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)
- Certification: MT/MLS/MLT (ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a generalist in a clinical laboratory environment preferred
