Laboratory Manager – Western New York Region

Are you a seasoned laboratory professional looking to lead and inspire in a community-focused setting? A leading healthcare system in Western New York is seeking a skilled Laboratory Manager to oversee operations in their full-service clinical laboratory. Job Responsibilities

  • Lead daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with New York State Department of Health and CLIA regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 11 lab supervisors, medical technologists, and phlebotomists.
  • Coordinate quality assurance, proficiency testing, equipment maintenance, and adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Manage laboratory budget, supplies, inventory, and implement cost-effective workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to streamline testing processes and deliver timely diagnostic results.
  • Drive continuous improvement, staff development, and maintain a positive team environment.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biological/Chemical Sciences, or equivalent (Master’s preferred).
  • Certification: ASCP/CLS-certified or eligible; current New York State MT license required.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years in clinical lab settings, including supervisory or senior technologist roles.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and analytical abilities. Proficient in regulatory compliance, quality control, and budget management.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $105,000 – $145,000 annually (based on experience)
  • Schedule: Full-time, salaried position with 12% differential for evenings/nights
