Responsibilities of the Med Tech- Transfusion Tissue Services

• Days 7AM Start. Rotate Evenings, Nights, Weekends as Needed
• Weekend/Float/On Call Requirements (if applicable)
• Works in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Works in an area which contains bio hazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards
• Provides technical expertise and consultation to all Blood Bank Labs
• Services provided include immunohematology testing, compatibility testing for blood product administration, volume reduction, and irradiation of appropriate blood products and the storage, dispensing and tracking of tissue products
• Assures accreditation standards are followed at all facility Blood Bank Labs for the following: FDA, American Society Blood Banks (AABB), DNV, DCH, College of American Pathologists (CAP)
• Assures technical competency of Blood Bank employees.

Requirements of the Med Tech- Transfusion Tissue Services

• Bachelor’s degree required. BB (ASCP) or SBB (ASCP) required
• Must Have Lead MT experience in Blood Bank
