PT or FT Onsite Drug & Alcohol Abuse Counselor (LCSW, LMHC)– Full-Time
Southeastern Arizona
A community-focused healthcare system in Southeastern Arizona is seeking a dedicated Master's Degree Counselor (LCSW or LMHC) to join its Mental Health team. This onsite permanent opportunity offers the chance to work in the outpatient, rural health clinic setting, providing meaningful, patient-centered care in a scenic high desert region known for its mountain views, historic charm, and affordable living. Responsibilities
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning for patients with alcohol and substance use disorders.
• Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family counseling interventions tailored to patient needs.
• Deliver relapse prevention, motivation enhancement, and co-occurring disorder treatment strategies.
• Collaborate routinely with hepatology, primary care, psychiatry, nursing, and other clinical team members to coordinate care plans and support integrated care delivery.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation compliant with regulatory, payer, and hospital standards.
• Participate in case consultation, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in community outreach and education regarding substance use disorder prevention and resources.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted professional license as one of the following (meeting Rural Health Clinic eligible provider criteria for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement):
- Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD, PsyD)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or equivalent state-recognized professional counseling license (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor)
- Previous experience in substance use disorder counseling and co-occurring treatment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
