Imaging Services Manager - Regular Full-Time
JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Imaging Services will be responsible for the delivery of personalized, professional, quality patient care, conduct the daily and ongoing activities of all the Imaging Services including but not limited to public, staff, personnel relations. The Manager of Imaging Services is responsible for examinations of patients across many different modalities to include, but not limited to CT, CTA, MRA, MRI, Holter Monitors, Diagnostic Radiology, Bone Densitometry, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine to assist the Radiologist and Physician in diagnosing and treating patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising the following services. CT, CTA, MRA, MRI, Holter Monitors, Diagnostic Radiology, Bone Densitometry, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine.
- Sets an example and assesses the quality of care rendered.
- Performs technical procedures commensurate with the incumbent’s level of education and/or licensure.
- Assists in the development and revision of department policies ascertaining that local, state and federal accrediting and licensing bodies’ requirements are met.
- Assists the organization in incorporating the guiding principles into its imaging practice.
- Responsible for verifying employee credentials under his or her position control.
- Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, staff moral, and staff development.
- Responsible for collaborating with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and continued staff development.
- Responsible for planning, developing and implementing a day to day schedule to cover all modalities offered while remaining within budgetary constraints.
- Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing, supplies, and services within Imaging Services.
- Serves as spokesperson for Imaging Services and represents the organization professionally.
- Participates in appropriate meeting and committees.
- Participates in regulatory surveys.
- Encourages staff education to improve the quality of care delivered in Imaging Services.
- In addition to meeting the terms and conditions of the contract for Imaging Services, the Supervisor shall be responsible for ascertaining compliance with the state of Texas Radiation Control Regulations. Responsibility shall also include the periodic updating of standing orders and repeat image policies.
- The Imaging Services Supervisor, by law, has responsibility for and control of the quality, radiation safety and technical aspects of all x-ray examinations and procedures.
The manager shall demonstrate an extensive working knowledge of anatomy: understand principles of physics, electricity, and methods of film exposure to obtain high quality studies. Directly supervises and works along side of staff technologist. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training new employees; planning, assigning and directing work and work schedules; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates of Applied Science in Radiology
Two years as a Staff Technologist
Basic knowledge of all modalities in facility
Professional Technologist Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
Current and Valid State License
