Job Description

Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist, by performing the following duties. Performs all radiographic procedures with a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, positioning and the mechanisms used so that independent selections and modification of technical factors may produce optimal results of each radio graph. Will be responsible for all radio-graphic procedures and knows the latest methods to be employed. Has knowledge of all equipment used, knows its capacities and limitations and is proficient in its usage. Capable of improvising or modifying methods quickly if an unusual situation arises. Able to maintain self-control and perform well under stressful conditions. Possess a working knowledge of CPR training. Keeps current on personnel policies, procedure manuals, policy manuals and other manuals pertinent to the Radiology Department and will follow protocols as written. Positions patients on the examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of the body requested by the physician. Other duties may be assigned. Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Shifts:Monday- Friday 8-5 On Call- Nights and Weekends unless weekend relief is available.
