Job Description

Looking for a Radiology/CT Tech for a full time position!

JOB SUMMARY

Works within the objectives and policies established by the Imaging Department, performs MRI and other related procedures to produce high quality diagnostic sectional anatomic images for continued patient care, which will aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of their patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Verify type of exam and prepare exam room for procedures in advance.
  • Confirm patient’s identity and explain procedure to them prior to performing the exam.
  • Transport patient to and from MRI department.
  • Follow proper procedures for patient questionnaires.
  • Position & immobilize patient according to guidelines.
  • Select proper protocol based on diagnosis.
  • Ensure all images are properly identified and all records are properly filed.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of all MRI equipment.
  • Accurately log patient exams.
  • Complete and process radiological charges.
  • Comprehend the full function of performing MRI examinations’ utilizing the PACS and EMR systems.
  • Analyze data following case flow and priority while assessing patient condition versus procedural needs.
  • Trained to start intravenous lines and to draw labs for radiographic examinations’ utilizing the proper technique.
  • Responsible for verifying that the patient identifiers are correct in the electronic medical record, prior to the study being performed.
  • Responsible for documenting and maintaining the patient’s electronic medical record.
  • Proficient in the use of power injector.
  • Follow safety guidelines for MRI procedures.
  • Utilize the LRHS policy for contrast administration using GFR and patient’s creatinine.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology and licensed by the ARRT (or registry eligible).
  • Current and Valid State License.
  • Current BLS
  • Cross-trained for MRI and/or licensed in MRI by the ARRT

WORKING CONDITION AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Standing and walking for most of the shift.
  • Bending and stooping.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Moving patients from chair to bed and back.
  • Ability to focus on details.
  • Must be able to communicate with staff.
  • Must be able to work well under stressful situations.
  • Subject to electrical, chemical, and radiation energy hazards.
  • Work with patients of all ages.
  • Works with and around hazardous and biohazard materials.
