Job Description
Our Forensic Psychologist performs court ordered evaluations, commitment and recommitment evaluations pursuant to the provisions of G.L. c. 123. He/she evaluates individuals with suspected mental health difficulties often around issues of Competence to Stand Trial (CST) or Criminal Responsibility (CR), aid-in-sentencing, and civil commitment related to mental illness.
Responsibilities:
Performs court ordered evaluations, commitment and recommitment evaluations pursuant to the provisions of G.L. c. 123.Evaluates individuals with suspected mental health difficulties often around issues of Competence to Stand Trial (CST) or Criminal Responsibility (CR), aid-in-sentencing, and civil commitment related to mental illness.Conducts inpatient examinations of defendants on issues primarily pertaining to CST and CR and coordinates with inpatient treatment teams and the courts.Completes other forensic evaluations that include competence to stand trial updates and Independent Forensic Risk Assessments, which consist of risk assessment evaluations.Supervises and trains psychology students, provides training and education to the rest of the clinical team as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
- A PhD. or Psy. D. in psychology from an accredited university
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience working in a psychiatric hospital or correctional facility is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current license as a Psychologist in Massachusetts
Designated Forensic Psychologist (DFP) or working towards becoming a DFP
