Loyal Source Government Services is looking for a qualified Phlebotomist to work as a civilian contractor promoting and restoring patients’ health at the Va San Diego Healthcare System located in San Diego, CA. For more information please contact Matt McCrary at [Register to View] or via email at [Register to View] REQUIREMENTS: -A High School Diploma or equivalent Phlebotomy Certification prior to performing phlebotomy services -Current CPR and BLS -Resume -A minimum of one year phlebotomist experience within the last three years, 2-3 years' in an acute care setting is preferred. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: -Performs proper specimen collection and labeling procedures used for routing and special procedures. Performs all standard laboratory techniques related to phlebotomy, i.e. correct patient identification, proper collection of samples, (volume, tube type, temperature and/or timing conditions) and collection of specimens for urinalysis, 24-hour urines, toxicology and microbiological (sputum and urine), all defined within the SOP’s. -Must accession all specimens in receiving area and ensure timely processing or transport of specimens to the main laboratory so processing and testing can be initiated.
