Job Description
Job Description: The Mammography Technologist is responsible for operation x-ray equipment and performing diagnostic procedures. This position is critical by providing outstanding patient care and accurate and efficient results, the Mammography Technologist impacts the profitability of the organization.
- Performs mammography and/or assists with biopsies on an as needed basis;
- Practices excellent mammography positioning;
- Provides excellent patient care, communicates procedures and provides education on an as needed basis;
- effectively handles patient complaints as evidences by patient satisfaction scores;
- Follows detailed oral and written instructions and completes procedures as identified;

- Maintains confidentiality of patient information 100% of the time.

- Prior experience with RIS/PACS and Penrad, preferred;
- Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program;
- Understands and communicated medical terminology;
- Current non-restricted licensure in state of work location required;
- Current certification by ARRT in Mammography or MQSA qualified to take ARRT advanced level exam in mammography with documentation of clinical experience;
- High School Diploma: Associates degree preferred;
- Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location;
- Knowledge of database software, Sectra RIS/PACS software is preferred;
- Needs to be able to stand for long periods of time;
- Two years of experience in mammography is preferred;
- Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred;
- Prior quality control experience preferred.
