Health System's Pathology Administration department is seeking a full time MT Safety and Compliance Specialist. The MT Safety and Compliance Specialist is responsible for coordinating, maintaining and assisting with the laboratory quality, safety and compliance programs under the guidance of the Safety Education and Compliance Coordinator.
Responsibilities
Exercises independent analytical and critical thinking skills with appropriate judgement regarding problem resolution and communication
Monitors laboratory safety programs, safety policies and procedures
Provides required and continuing education to all pathology team members
Coordinates regulatory documentation for the laboratory
Assumes the responsibilities of the supervisor in his/her absence as designated
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (BSCLS/BSMT) from an accredited program* OR a Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry* plus graduation from a NAACLS accredited MLS/CLS/MT program.
Current MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) or equivalent certification
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical work experience as a Medical Technologist in the clinical laboratory setting
*Unless grandfathered under previous hiring requirements or Ph.D., or foreign trained MD.
Preferred
Master's degree in Clinical Lab Science (MSCLS) or equivalent from an accredited program
ASCP Specialty certification
