For more information please contact TJ Thurman at [Register to View] or via email at [Register to View] JOB SNAP SHOT Location: VAMC Philadelphia, PA REQUIREMENTS: Resume License BLS Competency Checklist Social Security Card Proof of Citizenship (birth certificate or passport, etc.) Transcripts PPD from the past year Hep-B vaccination or declination QUALIFICATIONS: Must have at least 1 year of experience. Must have a current state certificate of registration as a professional medical assistant in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Must have a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association. TYPE OF WORK: The duties include but are not limited to the following: Staff are expected to prevent infection by utilization of universal precautions, correct hand washing techniques between procedures and/or patients, maintain aseptic techniques, and maintain isolation techniques. All staff are furthermore expected to use good body mechanics to prevent injury to self, patients, and staff. All nursing staff are to use safety protective devices for self and patient and to check all emergency supplies and equipment per unit routine. Staff are expected to employ positive and effective interpersonal skills. Medical assistants provide general administrative and clinical support to the nursing staff that includes greeting and checking patients into outpatient clinic areas, taking vital signs, recording results in the patient records, assisting the nursing staff, and providing assistance and direction to patients for follow on appointments.
