This opportunity is with a leading independent pathology services and cancer diagnostics company, offering integrated diagnostic and personalized medicine consultations and information technology solutions to physicians and hospital systems. The pathologists provide diagnostic opinions and work collaboratively with referring physicians to determine appropriate patient treatment options. They also provide services to pharmaceutical companies and other research entities to support their efforts to develop new cancer treatments.
Job Summary:
Prepares histologic slides from human tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by the Pathologist.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Associate's Degree in the field of Laboratory Science or equivalent under the CLIA guidelines of high complexity testing
- Certified or eligible for Board of Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
Experience:
- Completion of a Histology program accredited by NAACLS or minimum of one year experience as a Histology Technician Trainee and competent in the areas of embedding, microtomy, and special stains
