Job Description Participates with directors in interviewing and hiring ultrasound staff. Coordinates orientation, development and competency assessment, of all ultrasound staff. Monitors quality of images with input/feedback from radiologists to assure that the quality of diagnostic studies is consistent among all departments, shifts and staff.in order to provide optimum exams. Coaches staff to correct sub-optimal images. Acts as a resource to all staff. Accepts assigned duties such as developing work and on-call staffing schedules for campus. Accepts 'in-charge' responsibilities as appropriate. Coordinates process of achieving required certifications for ultrasound departments. Performs all diagnostic ultrasound procedures, fixed and mobile, in accordance with established policies and procedures. Must be registered in two of the following modalities abdomen, OB-GYN, and/or neurosonology. Assists the radiologist with designated diagnostic exams. Interacts with medical staff and other outside entities regarding ultrasound matters. Must be proficient in abdomen, obstetric, gynecology, small parts, and color doppler scans. Assists the radiologist in guided needle biopsies, paracentisis, thoracentesis, needle biopsies, needle localization, and operating room cryoblations. General computer skills as needed. May transport non-narcotic medications as directed. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. Leads performance improvement initiatives. Required to participate in 'on call' rotation as determined per specific department needs. May transport non-narcotic medications as directed.
