Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, this position follows established professional standards and procedures, helps facilitate patient flow and performs a variety of screening and technical diagnostic tests including manual lensometry and manual keratometry. Assists with patient contact lens removal/ insertion and instilling eye drops as directed by physician.

Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent PLUS experience in an ophthalmic or healthcare related setting. • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. • Completion of ophthalmic, optometric, or medical assistant training program and/or AAO Home Study Course preferred. • Current CPR certification preferred. • Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant in good standing or at least one year in an ophthalmic practice preferred.
