Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The responsibilities of the Surgical Technician within Surgical Services fall within Surgery, Sterile Processing, and Endoscopy.  Responsibilities include instrument decontamination and sterilization, assisting with Gastroenterology procedures, performing scrub technician duties under the supervision of the physician/circulating nurse for all patients regardless of age, creed, or color.  The Surgical Tech demonstrates knowledge of principles and practice of aseptic technique and knowledge of surgical equipment, instruments, procedures, and supplies used within the Surgical Services environment.  They will work within AAMI and AORN guidelines and maintain responsibility to operate and manage supplies within budgetary limitations. 

 

Hours: Varied hours between 6:30am 5:30pm to meet schedule demands and will include call rotation.

This position is located in our Aspirus Medford location.  

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of an approved Surgical Technician program
  • Current CPR certification
  • One-year surgical tech experience
  • Experience in Sterile Processing and Endoscopy
