Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Surgical Technologist with [Register to View] you are responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. You are a promoter of education for yourself, peers and students. Join a team that collaborates with all surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Some general duties will include:

  • Education to patients and their family members.
  • High degree of physician satisfaction.
  • Set up table, instruments, and supplies and drapes operative field.
  • Assist and anticipates needs of the surgeon in providing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
  • Maintain and reports correct counts or discrepancies in counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurse.
  • Clean rooms, furniture, equipment, and suite according to prescribed procedures.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
  • Provide flexibility in the role of the surgical technologist to accommodate the diversity and variety of procedures as well as the fluctuating volumes of procedures.
  • Knowledge of all equipment used in surgery.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and caring for instruments.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Demonstrates good problem solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills including ability to read and process emails.
  • 20 minute call response time.
EDUCATION
Candidates should possess one or more of the following:
  • Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program required.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist beneficial but not required.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Typical schedule is weekdays 6:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Monday schedule is 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
1 late schedule a week from 9:45 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.
Weekend Call – 1 every 7-8 weeks
Night Call – 1 night per week
20 minute call response time
Benefit eligible including paid time off (PTO)
56 hours in a 2 week pay period
