Candidates who qualify for this position will be graduates of an accredited school of Surgical Technologists with their current BLS and ORT certification. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Surgical Technologist with competency in general, OB/GYN, orthopedics, vascular and urology.

Shift: Day Shift with call 1/5 weekends to start until the staff quota is met then it will move to 1/6 weekends.

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm or 7:00pm-5:30am (depending on preference)

Job: Surgical Technologist First Assistant

Certified First Assistants provide direct support to surgeons during surgical procedures. Positioning and prepping patients prior to surgery, ensuring clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges, controlling bleeding, closing surgery sites using sutures or staples and properly dressing wounds. They also collaborate with doctors and other surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care of patients
