Job Description

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support surgeons and clinical teams throughout a variety of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside surgeons, nurses, anesthesia professionals, and other members of the surgical team while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized operating room. The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing equipment and instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures

  • Assist surgeons and other members of the surgical team during invasive and non-invasive procedures

  • Maintain a sterile field and follow infection prevention and safety protocols

  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and provide appropriate instruments and supplies

  • Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly before and during procedures

  • Perform surgical counts and maintain accurate documentation

  • Recognize significant patient conditions or reactions and promptly notify the appropriate care team

  • Assist with operating room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures

  • Maintain appropriate handling of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment

  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia personnel, and other healthcare professionals

  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols

  • Support efficient operating room workflow while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Completion of a Surgical Technology program with eligibility to sit for certification or qualifying experience as a Surgical Tech

  • Surgical Technologist I: minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist/Technician experience if a Surgical Tech program has not been completed

  • Surgical Technologist II: Surgical Technology certification with 3+ years of experience, or 5+ years of Surgical Tech experience

  • Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR

  • Surgical Technology certification preferred

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
