Job Description

Are you a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist seeking a rewarding opportunity in Southern Louisiana? Join our esteemed surgical team and play a vital role in ensuring optimal patient care and safety. We are currently looking for an experienced Surgical Technologist to contribute to our state-of-the-art surgical facility.


Responsibilities:

As a Surgical Technologist, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
  • Collaborating closely with surgical team members to anticipate and fulfill their needs during procedures.
  • Passing instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon and other team members as needed.
  • Maintaining a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure and taking appropriate measures to prevent contamination.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting surgical equipment.
  • Managing the disposal of biohazardous materials according to established protocols.
  • Providing comfort and support to patients before and after surgery.
  • Adhering to all safety and infection control protocols and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Participating in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical technology.

Qualifications:

  • Surgical Technologist certification/license is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in surgical technology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with surgical team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and willingness to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
  • Dedication to patient safety and quality care.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (with flexibility as needed).
  • Scheduled on-call rotations with call-back pay, requiring a 30-minute response time.

Financial Package:

  • Non-certified Surgical Technologist: Hourly rate ranging from $18 to $26 per hour (depending on experience).
    • Certified Surgical Technologist: Hourly rate ranging from $20 to $30 per hour (depending on experience).
  • Sign-on and relocation bonuses available to facilitate a smooth transition.
