Registered Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric - (RRT - Peds - Pedi)
StartDate: 09/10/2018Available Shifts: 12 N Pay Rate: $31.00 - 36.00

SHIFT: Night shift, 7pm-7:30am; 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule, some holidays in accordance with vacant position's holiday rotation. No call required; opportunity for extra shifts at times. Scheduled 72 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks), typically 36 hrs per week however at times may need 48 hours one week and 24 hours the following/vice versa.

Required Qualifications
Proficient in all aspects of age-specific care, from neonate to geriatric. Patient populations include 5-bed ICU, 35 bed Adult/Peds Med/Surg unit, 7 bed OB department, ER, & OR.

Must be able to work independently with solid clinical skills, critical thinking, and judgment. Demonstrate professionalism and collaborative approach to patient care, working with interdisciplinary team (physicians, mid-levels, RNs, etc.) to deliver quality care to patients. Requires ability to multi-task, prioritize care, and communicate effectively.

Graduate with certificate of completion of an AMA accredited program in Respiratory Care. Registry with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Licensed with the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. CPR, ACLS and PALS certification. Neonatal Support certification. Demonstrates clinical competency with patient care. Demonstrates goal ability to communicate in written and verbal fashion, promoting a team approach to patient care. Demonstrates professional development through continuing education activities. Will accept Registered or Certified RT must have very solid experience and confidence in own skills and knowledge of best & most current practice as they work independently (we staff one RT for the house, per shift and they work very closely with ER and hospitalist providers, and all nursing staff - ER, ICU, Med/Surg, OB). RT responds as part of rapid response team and to any code blue called in house.
