Registered Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric - (RRT - Peds - Pedi)

Patient Ratios : 30-35 UOS TO START
Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : 12 HOUR SHIFTS; RRT/CRTT; 8 ON 7A SHIFT, 6 ON 7P SHIFT; SHIFT SUPERVISORS/CLINICAL COORDINATORS/DIRECTOR
Type of equipment : PB 840/AVEA VENTS, IL GEMS BLOOD GAS ANALYZERS.
Documentation system: MEDITECH
Scheduling requirements: 3 TWELVE HOUR SHIFTS PER WEEK, 2 ON CALL SHIFTS PER 4 WEEK SCHEDULE MINIMUM
Floating policy: NONE AT THIS TIME
Patient Experience requirements: ICARE MODEL/AIDET (WILL REVIEW DURING ORIENTATION)
Certifications: BCLS/ACLS/TMB LICENSE FOR RT IN TEXAS
Must have: GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS; BASIC FLOOR THERAPY EXPERIENCE, ABG COMPETENCY. GOOD ATTENDANCE PRACTICES. (ATTENDANCE POLICIES WILL BE REVIWED DURING ORIENTATION TO UNIT)
Advanced skills needed: ADULT CRITICAL CARE EXPERIENCE (NEONATAL PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED)
Procedures performed on unit: (ICU/CVICU/ED) VENT MANAGEMENT, ALINE DRAWS, INLINE NEB TREATMENTS, HIGH FLOW OXYGEN DELIVERY. MEDICAL FLOORS: NEB TREATMENTS, CPT, ACAPELLA, EZPAP, ABG DRAWS.
BCLS/ACLS/STABLE
NAVY BLUE SCRUBS, WHITE/BLACK LONG SLEEVE UNDERGARMENT IF DESIRED
Required Qualifications
TX licensed RRT
RT licensure, ACLS, BCLS, PALS, 2 yrs adult critical care experience
