Location: Womack Army Medical Center, NC

Work Schedule:

The performance hours of the MTF are as follows:
Womack Army Medical Center is operational 365 days per year, 24 hours a day and every day. Womack Army Medical Center is an inpatient facility with an Emergency Department open daily.
The primary duty location for the contract Respiratory Therapist will be to provide inpatient coverage in the MTF on a rotational basis with other respiratory therapy staff as available and scheduled by the department. The contract respiratory therapists will provide services in all
areas of the MTF except the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The hours of coverage are 24 hours every day with the schedule running from Sunday to Saturday.

Each Respiratory Therapist will be scheduled for (6) twelve hour shifts from either 0630-1900 or 1830-0700 and (1) eight hour
shift from either 0630-1500, 1430-2300 or 2230-0700 for a total of 80 hours in a two week period.

1.5.7.2. Scheduling: The schedule or scheduling process is as follows:
The Supervisor of Respiratory Therapists or designee, posts the schedule approximately 30 days in advance and is subject to change depending on mission requirements. The Contractor shall furnish qualified respiratory therapist services on a full-time time basis as needed for the
Department of Medicine. The MTF provides medical care 24 hours continuously with the schedule running from Sunday to Saturday. Each Therapist shifts will be scheduled for

(6) twelve hour shifts from either 0630-1900 or 1830-0700 and (1) eight hour shift from either 0630- 1500, 1430-2300 or 2230-0700 including one 30 minute meal break, which is not paid by the government. Hours are subject to change as determined by the government to ensure the clinical
mission is covered. Overtime is not authorized. Each contract respiratory therapist will be assigned a duty schedule on either night or day shift with an estimated number of shifts per schedule based on 12 month as follows:
(Shift a) 0630-1900, Sunday - Saturday
(Shift b) 1830-0700, Sunday - Saturday
(Shift c) 0630-1500, Sunday - Saturday
(Shift d) 1430-2300, Sunday - Saturday
(Shift e) 2230 - 0700, Sunday - Saturday
Each contract respiratory therapist will be assigned to a schedule comprised of the approximate number of shifts as defined below:
(Shift a) 0630-1900 (approximately 72 shifts per year)
(Shift b) 1830-0700 (approximately 72 shifts per year)
(Shift c) 0630-1500 (approximately 10 shifts per year)
(Shift d) 1430-2300 (approximately 4 shifts per year)
(Shift e) 2230-0700 (approximately 10 shifts per year)

Qualifications:

 Degree/Education (5.2.4): Associates Degree. Graduate from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
 Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support (5.2.3): Possess certification as
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
 Experience: One year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist after graduation.
 Board Certification (5.2.6.4.4): N/A
 Licensure/Registration: N/A

HCW Duties:
 Perform complex respiratory procedures with minimal supervision.
 Participate with physicians, nurses and other staff in planning respiratory treatment, with great reliance on the individual’s knowledge of the equipment.
 Provide emergency or critical respiratory care.
