Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist, under the guidance of the NICU/Peds Manager, Department Director, and/or Medical Director, utilizes knowledge and skill at the advanced level to provide direct age-specific and culturally appropriate patient care in the unit and on transport through use of adequate ventilation and oxygenation by use of medical gases and breathing equipment. Employee performs moderate complexity testing to include blood gases, Hbg, electrolytes, glucose, bilirubin and Hct. Serves as clinical resource to new employees and preceptors, participates in patient and staff education. The therapist actively participates in neonatal transports to and from the perinatal center. Requires two years of specialized training in an approved respiratory therapy program or its equivalent and be certified by the NBRC. Requires current South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license (RCP). Requires current certification in BLS and NRP. PALS certification is desirable. Successful completion of Respiratory NICU department competency is required annually. Call today to hear more about this great opportunity!
