Position Overview

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and managing patients with a wide range of cardiopulmonary conditions across various clinical settings. This role plays a vital part in improving patient outcomes by utilizing evidence-based respiratory care practices, continuously monitoring patient status, and adjusting treatment plans to support optimal breathing and overall function.

Working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams, the Respiratory Therapist performs comprehensive respiratory assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, and delivers appropriate therapeutic interventions. This includes administering oxygen therapy, managing ventilators, and providing airway support as needed. The Respiratory Therapist monitors patient progress through ongoing evaluation and diagnostic testing, ensuring treatments remain effective and aligned with patient needs.

In addition, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for educating patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatment plans, promoting long-term health and disease management. The role also includes maintaining accurate and timely documentation, adhering to clinical protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Through strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and a commitment to patient-centered care, the Respiratory Therapist supports positive health outcomes and enhances quality of life for patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.
