Job Description

Seeking a Full Time MRI Technologist to join a great team in Beautiful Vermont!

  • Department Diagnostic Imaging (X-Ray MRI)
  • Schedule - Shift - Hours Full-time w/rotating wknds & holidays - Evening shift - Monday - friday, 2:30pm -11pm
  • 80 Hours per two-week pay period

Summary

Under supervision of a radiologist and direction department leadership, competently performs imaging on a 1.5 T magnetic resonance imaging scanner. Responsible for scanning and preparing images for review per protocols in MRI. Must have the ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy, perform MRI’s and inject contrast media where applicable. Responsible for providing service excellence and complying with hospital policies and procedures. Uses the RIS/PACS and HIS for proper recording of patient exams and dissemination of patient results.

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completed education requirements to become Certified in MRI.

Minimum Work Experience

  • Recent, up to one year, hospital related experience
  • Digital Imaging and post processing PACS experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • MRI certified by ARRT (ARMRIT or CAMRT)*
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
  • Must obtain 24 ECE credits, in a two-year period, for re-certification and licensure.
  • 2 MRI Safety Credits annually

*or acquire within first year of employment.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Knowledge and ability to provide care based on physical and psychosocial development and safety issues related to patients of all age groups, including infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively relay information both up and down the chain of command.
  • Ability to plan, organize, set goals and objectives for review and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of state and federal health safety laws and TJC Standards.
  • Ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Ability to establish access to veins for purpose of giving IV contrast.
  • Knowledge of basic medical equipment (i.e. O2 Tank, pulse oximeter, EKG machines, etc.).
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.

Pay Range = $33.32 - $49.27
