The function of the Radiologic Technologist position within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to perform all phases of technical diagnostic imaging. Radiologic Technologists operate X-Ray equipment used to capture and develop images for the purpose of medical diagnosis. The Radiologic technologist promotes OHSU’s mission statement by delivering high quality, cost effective, family-oriented service. This position helps to create a collaborative environment by integrating education, research and clinical leadership. Radiologic Technologists work with infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. This position cover areas including General X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Orthopedics Clinic, Pain Clinic, and the Surgery Operating Rooms at Center For Health & Healing (CHH) at the South Waterfront area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a graduate of an accredited diagnostic radiography program that meets current qualifications to take and pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) board examinations in Radiography upon hire
- Student candidates must obtain the RT (R) (ARRT) certification within 6 months of their hire date
- Candidates must have a current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) temporary license for student hires and permanent license for registered hires.
- Must have a valid OHSU-approved Basic Life Support BLS card.
- Perform diagnostic imaging studies, radiation safety, effective use of equipment, record maintenance, infection control, quality control, compliance, patient communication, contrast media, problem solving, judgment, teamwork and initiative.
- Ability to speak clearly, demonstrate patience and understanding of patients' needs.
- Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of patients and internal customers.
- Use of personal computers, copiers, phones, and fax machine
- Must have ability to stand, lift, and move patients.
- Ability to work a full-time position, with overtime as required.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions, multiple demands and continuous interaction with patients and other medical professionals. It requires being exposed to radiation, chemical solutions, and human tissue/fluids.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
- 1 year experience conducting radiologic examinations; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 1 year at a Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center Experience
