Responsibilities of the Ultrasound Technologist:
- Performs all sonographic procedures for the diagnosis of specified disease or conditions using high-frequency sound waves
- Assists in the maintenance and completion of statistical data for ACR accreditation
- Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to OB, pelvic, abdomen, thyroid, neonatal heads, renals, testicular, aorta, pancreas, gallbladder, biophysical profiles, breast, thoracentesis, paracentesis, FNA’s, transvaginal, carotids, DVT’s, vein mapping, PICC line insertion guidance, doppler vascular examinations, and color-flow ultrasound examinations
- Provides backup support to co-workers as appropriate
Requirements of the Ultrasound Technologist:
- ARDMS certification
- BLS certification
- Basic computer skills
