Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The interventional radiologic technologist performs radiographic examinations of the highest possible quality while limiting radiation exposure and using conventional, fluoroscopic, portable and c-arm radiology equipment. Assists with diagnostic/interventional procedures to patients of all ages, under the supervision of department Radiologist. Complies with measures to assure that patient/customer satisfaction results are consistently maintained. Appropriately supervises students according to competency level. Complies with and provides leadership in maintaining an environment that supports our philosophy and values.
EDUCATION
- Knowledge of radiological standards and procedures normally acquired through completion of a diploma from an approved AMA school of radiological technology, an Associate's Degree in Radiology, or other manner to meet requirements of the ARRT and State of Wisconsin Radiographer licensure.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of two years' working full time in Diagnostic Radiology necessary to enhance and develop skills, with previous experience in Cath Lab/Special Procedures preferred
- Possesses State of Wisconsin Radiographer license
- Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
OTHER
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) registry beneficial
- ACLS certification beneficial
- Understanding of EKG rhythm is beneficial
- Possesses a working knowledge of both hospital and department specific computer systems
