CT Technologist – Day/Night Shift | Northern Illinois

Permanent & Full-Time Direct Hire
CT Imaging | Hospital-Based | Multiple Shift Options

A hospital-based imaging department located in Northern Illinois, approximately one hour south of Chicago, is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join its radiology team.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled CT professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong CT experience and be committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging and excellent patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform CT examinations according to established imaging protocols.
  • Prepare patients for CT procedures and explain examinations clearly.
  • Verify patient identification, clinical history, and examination orders.
  • Position patients appropriately for CT examinations.
  • Operate CT equipment safely and effectively.
  • Select appropriate CT protocols based on the examination ordered.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Administer contrast media according to established protocols and applicable requirements.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after CT procedures.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to contrast reactions and patient emergencies.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and repeat examinations when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation.
  • Perform quality-control procedures and assist with equipment troubleshooting.
  • Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental, regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide compassionate and professional patient care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional CT and radiologic responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prior CT Technologist experience required.
  • ARRT certification/registry required.
  • Appropriate Illinois radiologic licensure required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform CT examinations.
  • Strong knowledge of CT protocols, positioning, radiation safety, and image quality.
  • Experience in a hospital-based imaging environment preferred.
  • Strong patient-care and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to work day and/or night shifts based on departmental needs.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality imaging, and regulatory compliance.
