Job Description

CT Technologist – Nights

Full time night shift position performing high quality CT imaging in an acute care environment. This role supports diagnostic services by producing accurate images, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with all departmental protocols.

Role Summary

The CT Technologist performs CT examinations, prepares patients, operates imaging equipment, and ensures safe, efficient workflow. Responsibilities include patient positioning, contrast administration, monitoring for reactions, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with clinical staff. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition prior to contrast administration or imaging

  • Perform CT and radiographic procedures using proper technique and exposure factors

  • Position patients accurately and provide clear instructions

  • Prepare and administer contrast media

  • Verify required consent prior to procedures

  • Document exam completion and relevant clinical details

  • Communicate exam results or concerns to supervisory staff when indicated

  • Participate in quality assurance activities

  • Operate portable radiographic equipment as needed

  • Perform PACS duties and ensure accurate image transmission

  • Provide instruction to radiography students on procedures, physics, equipment, anatomy, and technologist responsibilities

  • Assist with patient transport to and from imaging areas

  • Work night shift as scheduled

Education

Graduate of an approved radiologic technology program

Experience

CT experience preferred

Certifications & Licensure

ARRT registered in Radiography (R) ARRT registered in Computed Tomography (CT) Current state license required BLS required within 3 months of hire

Skills & Abilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to compute exposure factors and manage multiple tasks Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and exam abnormalities
