Night Shift Friday-Sunday 6:30PM-7:00AM
Night Differential $3.21 per hour
Weekend Differential $2.00 per hour
Are you seeking a rewarding career as a CT Technologist? Join our esteemed North Carolina Health Care System as we are currently searching for an experienced CT Technologist to become a vital part of our medical imaging team in the Raleigh/Durham area.
As a CT Technologist, you will play an instrumental role in delivering exceptional patient care by conducting computed tomography (CT) scans and contributing to precise diagnoses and treatment plans. We're looking for an individual with robust technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, outstanding communication abilities, and an unwavering dedication to patient safety and comfort.
Licensure/Certification/Education Requirements:
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or eligible for registry. For registry-eligible candidates, a copy of an accredited program diploma is required.
- Advanced certification in CT is required within one year of employment.
- Successful candidates must achieve and maintain their registration status and fulfill continuing education requirements annually.
- All imaging specialists are required to maintain their current competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS).
- Completion of an accredited Radiological Science educational program or completion within 3 months at the time of application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain images according to protocols, manipulate images as per protocols, perform multi-planar and 3D image reconstructions, demonstrate an in-depth understanding of CT algorithms, and select appropriate window and level settings based on anatomy.
- Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients following protocols, establish intravenous lines, administer IV contrast using safe and proper injection procedures, determine contrast eligibility using the correct procedure, and check appropriate lab values before contrast injection according to protocol.
- Maintain a thorough grasp of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and transmit images to Quality Control (QC), UNCH's Electronic Medical Record (EMR), EPIC, and PACS systems. Verify and segment images at the QC station, utilize IMPAX service tools for image transmission verification, complete, modify, and/or cancel orders promptly, and ensure accurate charge information. Verify patient identification and demographic information on PACS images in line with UNC policy.
- Contribute to a smooth workflow by adhering to schedules, volunteering for challenging tasks, complex procedures, and new research initiatives, assist in providing guidance to new employees and students.
Qualifications:
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry-eligible, accompanied by a copy of an accredited program diploma for registry-eligible candidates.
- Advanced certification in CT required within one year of employment.
- Competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS).
- Completed an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months of application.
