Hours/Shift: Full-Time/Days

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision of CT staff a. Coordinates the work assigned to each area and monitors the work of the staff: develops and assigns daily schedule of assigned personnel and ensures accurate record keeping. b. Observes and assists technical and ancillary staff in the performance of job duties, including providing suggestions for improved work efficiency and quality. c. Performs preparation of control and quality control and assessment tasks (QA/QC). d. Ensures the department delivers quality services, in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards, to support operational excellence. e. Serves as the Clinical Coordinator for CT students.

Evaluation and Implementation of Appropriate Care a. Under the direction of the Radiologist and the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS), administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of diagnosis which includes positioning the x-ray beam with respect to the patient, anatomically positioning the patient, selecting exposure factors, and initiating exposure. b. Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes. c. After reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient’s abilities and condition, selects the most appropriate patient care plan. d. Selects appropriate shielding devices and appropriate immobilization devices. e. Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media. f. Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation. g. Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers (Name and DOB) and verifies procedure requested. Verifies female patient pregnancy status when appropriate. h. Able to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts from the patient and from the medical record which may impact the examination.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program
  • Licensure:
    • Current CT registration and licensure by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS)
    • Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
  • Certifications:
    • American Heart Association BLS
    • CT certification required within one year of hire

Preferences: Education preferred from an educational institution approved by ARRT, Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT), or the American College of Radiology (ACR). Previous experience as supervisor or lead
