Key Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Radiologist and the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS), administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of diagnosis which includes positioning the x-ray beam with respect to the patient, anatomically positioning the patient, selecting exposure factors, and initiating exposure.
• Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes, assesses the patient's abilities and condition, selects the most appropriate patient care plan.
• Prepare equipment and appropriate shielding and immobilization devices.
• Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media and assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure.
• Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers and verifies procedure requested.
• Able to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts, from the patient and from the medical record, which may impact the examination.
• Monitors patient and equipment during procedures, accurately documents exam times, patient reactions or problems, and reports concerns or issues immediately to supervisor.
• Documents patient and exam occurrences, provides evidence-based care and customer service excellence.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program
• Licensure:
  • Current CT registration and licensure by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS)
  • Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
• Certifications:
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • CT certification required within one year of hire
