Adelphi Medical Staffing is seeking a Psychologist for a 3-year contract opportunity rendering services at a Skilled Nursing Facility, a unit of the county hospital. The Psychologist(s) will be providing care to a large percentage of the hospital's residents exhibiting symptoms of depression and a lesser amount exhibiting documented psychiatric diagnosis (excluding dementia/depression).

Requirements:
• NY License
• Doctorate in Psychology
• Provide fingerprinting (required after the job has been awarded)
• Pass a background check (required after the job has been awarded)

Responsibilities:
• Psychotherapy
• Group therapy
• Cognitive rehabilitation
• Completion and maintenance of proper and timely clinical documentation
• Care planning for residents with an acute need for psychosocial intervention
• Psychotropic medication monitoring and recommendations for reduction or alternate therapeutic approaches
• Providing recommendations to the interdisciplinary team regarding residents’ health care decision-making capacity
• Comprehensive cognitive assessment that evaluates cognitive functioning including memory, attention, and problem-solving
• Health and behavioral services; assessing physical health issues and the resident’s pattern of compliance to treatment regimens
