Job Description
A correctional institute is seeking a psychologist for locum tenens coverage.
The facility is located in Spruce Pine, North Carolina.
None of the facilities with an open call have an inpatient unit. All of the listed facilities provide outpatient services. Training is provided for HERO EMR. The custody staff provides a presence in the area where clinicians work, but we do not assign C/Os as one-on-one with clinicians unless they go to the housing unit. Patients can only be seen if there is a custody officer in the area. No one should ever enter an individuals cell alone, ever. Regular services are provided in an office setting and the patients are brought to the mental health area to be seen. There may be times at certain facilities where clinicians will enter a locked housing unit, but they will have a custody escort at all times.
