Clinical Psychologist - Post Deployment Assessment Job Overview:

Position One

  • Provide services within the scope of their competencies and clinical privileges as granted by the Commanding Officer, and the applicable duties provided.
  • Coordinate with MTF assigned personnel to schedule initial and follow-on appointments or referrals for service members before they leave the center or the screening at the Line unit.
  • Perform assessments, evaluations, consultations, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (current edition) published by the American Psychiatric Association.
  • Contribute to organizational quality assurance goals to include technical peer review; and as required and appropriate, provide technical guidance to fellow healthcare providers.

Position Two

  • Provide services within the scope of their competencies and clinical privileges as granted by the Commanding Officer, and the applicable duties.
  • Tri Service Internal Behavioral Health Consultant (IBHC) or Tri Service Behavioral Health Care Facilitator (BHCF).
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of records, reports, and documentation of services provided. Provide clinical pharmacy direction for all clinical activities within the MTF.
  • Promote a team based model of pharmaceutical care that results in positive clinical outcomes in a patient centered Medical Home environment.
  • Collaborate with the Home Port Team to monitor Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures and intervene in patients with chronic disease states with scheduled visits or educational classes to include (but not limited to): Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension, Lipid and Pain management.
  • Review any Emergent/Urgent care and admission consults to monitor trends, review medication treatment, and follow up as indicated.
  • Perform telephone follow-ups to assess new medication regimens as requested by providers.
  • Institute and manage a medication refill program to expedite refill processes and increase the Primary Care Provider's time for direct patient care.
  • Perform a majority of activity on the Medical Home Port Team; however, may be required to perform functions in the outpatient pharmacy not to exceed 20% of weekly duty time.
  • Occasional travel may be required

Clinical Psychologist - Post Deployment Assessment Job Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)
  • Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • APA Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any US state.

Position One:

  • 1 year of full-time experience within the last 2 years working with patient population with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Position Two:

  • A one (1) year fellowship or residency in health psychology or behavioral medicine.

OR

  • One (1) year experience in the last three (3) years in the evaluation and treatment of patients who have pain, psychological factors affecting their physical condition, or difficulty coping with medical problems.

Position contingent on contract award with an anticipated Fall start date.
