Job Description

BHOP Psychologist

Location: Barksdale AFB Medical Clinic

Work Schedule: The 2nd Medical Group is an Outpatient Clinic. The Clinic hours are from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and down days. The HCW must not work more than 12 hours in a day or more than 40 hours per week.

Duties:

* When working in the Mental Health Clinic; Meet mental health clinic productivity requirements for direct patient care, with the expectation to have 5.5 hours of codable direct patient care scheduled per day, unless otherwise directed by the mental health flight commander.

* Ability to work and communicate professionally as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team. Attend training and meetings as directed by the MTF policy or as directed by the supervisor.

* Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed credentialed providers as needed or when directed by supervisor or Mental Health Flight Commander.

* Ability to provide walk-in triage and assessment services in addition to scheduled patient care as clinic demand indicates or when directed by supervisor or Mental Health Flight Commander.

* Participates in military-specific training (e.g., use of the Air Force Guide for Suicide Risk Assessment, Management, and Treatment, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress, etc).

* Contact referred patients to assess medication treatment adherence for depression, anxiety, and PTSD disorders.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 12 months of experience, in the last 36 months, with assessing and providing evidence-based individual counseling to patients within a mental health or health care facility.
  • Must have at least 12 months of direct hands-on experience in the last 36 months with computer operations, basic word processing, data entry, and use of an automated medical record system.
  • Prefer those with recent experience (within the past three years) providing integrated behavioral health services within a primary care setting.
