Seeking a Full-Time Permanent Polysomnographic Technician!

Description:

The Registered Polysomnographic Technician will perform basic and complex sleep studied on patients with possible sleep disorders and scored them. Also performs clerical procedures. Performs standard, sleep apnea studies, computer for ordering and charging; receives patients into department; maintains all equipment in proper working order; performs typing and filing when required; maintains adequate inventory of supplies; provides training for new employees; prepares monthly reports; performs other clerical functions as needed. Scores sleep studies. Communicates test information and results to physician, nurses, and physician offices. Woks with DMEs to provide for a smooth transition C-pap or Bipap therapy.

Job Duties:

Performs basic and complex studies (sleep studies, MSLT studies). Operates pulse oximetry equipment. Able to troubleshoot equipment. Manages paper work. Consistently follows hospital and department policies. Scores sleep studies. Assists with Quality Improvement.

Qualifications and Accountability:

  • The technician performing the service must meet one of the following:
    • American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM), Registered Sleep Technologist (RST);
    • Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT);
    • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT), Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
