Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and self-motivated Physical Therapist to join our team in a part-time, school-based role supporting children with special healthcare needs. This role is critical in addressing a care gap for pediatric clients with chronic musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. You will work closely with a supportive clinical team in a setting focused on long-term, ongoing therapy rather than curative or acute rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver physical therapy services to children and young adults aged 3 to 21 with chronic care conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on ongoing therapy needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including nurses, office staff, and school personnel.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using e-Clinical, the organization’s electronic record system.
  • Participate in onboarding and unit orientation; complete self-guided study of DHCS policies and documentation standards.
  • Manage caseloads in accordance with Title 22, Section 41517.5 of the California Code of Regulations.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • California-licensed Physical Therapist (DPT not required).
  • At least one year of experience treating children (required for CCS paneling eligibility).
  • Pediatric physical therapy experience in either school-based, outpatient, or home health settings.
  • Familiarity with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions (e.g., cerebral palsy, spina bifida, other CCS-qualifying diagnoses).
  • Experience providing chronic care therapy services (not short-term rehab).
  • Comfortable working independently and navigating a semi-autonomous onboarding structure.

Preferred Attributes

  • Already paneled with California Children's Services (CCS) or eligible for paneling.
