Job Description

Hours of Performance: The performance hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday between the hours of 0600-1800.


Place of Performance: Working out of the 96th Medical Group Campus on Eglin AFB, FL.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree: Master's degree in physical therapy or higher.
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • Experience: Shall have 24 months of experience working as a Physical Therapist in an outpatient clinical setting within the last 36 months (Orthopedic or sports setting preferred).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pelvic Floor or Women's Health Certification.
  • Licensure: Current, fill, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist.

Duties

  • Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF to include outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Plan and prepare written musculoskeletal treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient (estimated 85% of workload).
  • Plan and prepare written pelvic floor/women’s health treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient (estimated 15% of workload).
  • Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in use of assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Administer manual therapy techniques, applying knowledge of manual techniques and body physiology.
  • Administer traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment.
  • Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and/or automated systems.
  • Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of the patient's health care. Contact referring physicians regarding patient care concerns, as required.
  • Perform prevention and wellness activities, education, screening, and promote positive health behaviors.
  • Provide supervision to Physical Medicine Technicians.
  • Participate in peer review activities.
  • Documentation. Contractor employees shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established MTF standards, to include, but not limited to: timeliness, accuracy, content, and signature. Contractor employees shall only use MTF and Air Force-approved abbreviations for documentation in the patient health records and follow the MTF’s Do Not Use Abbreviation List.
  • Medical Records Documentation. Health care providers shall complete medical records documentation within 72 business hours of the encounter with the patient.
  • Use the proper coding of procedures and treatment, and shall maintain coding accuracy (CPT/E&M/procedure) at the same standard, 90% or higher, as military and civil service health care providers engaged in comparable work.
