TITLE: Physical Therapist (60K+)
LOCATION: New Concord, Ohio

Summary:
Looking to add a full time Physical Therapist to join our Rehabilitation Services Team.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy and the Clinical Leader of their respective area, the Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the laws and rules that govern the practice of physical therapy in the state of Ohio.
Duties are performed in the best interests of the facility and its patients.
Responsibilities:
-Physical Therapy services are on referral from the physician or under Direct Access regulations, and carried out under medical direction.
-The therapist shall perform an initial evaluation on all patients. The evaluation process through the review of the patient's relevant medical history and through the performance of specific testing shall determine a patient's specific care needs.
From this list of needs, in conjunction with the physician, patient and the patient's family members, the therapist develops a set of therapeutic goals to be achieved through the rehabilitation process to reduce or eliminate any of the problems which were identified during the evaluation.
-The therapist, based on the problems and goals list, develops for each patient a comprehensive plan of care with specific treatments identified to aid the patient in achieving his/her rehabilitation goals.
-The therapist shall use his/her discretion to appropriately delegate components of the care plan to appropriate support personnel, including when applicable, students on clinical assignment.
-The therapist shall not delegate any treatments which require the skill and knowledge of a Physical Therapist to be safely and effectively performed.
-The therapist shall on an ongoing basis re-evaluate the patient's condition based upon the patient's response to treatment and make appropriate modifications to the plan of care as necessary.
-The therapist shall be knowledgeable in the performance of all modalities in the Physical Therapy Department (as listed on the competency check list).
-The therapist administers treatments as prescribed in all phases of therapeutic exercise,including passive, active. active assistive, resistive, stretching, orthopedic manual therapy and neuromuscular techniques.
-The therapist provides muscle re-education and functional retraining exercises, including but not limited, to bed mobility, transfer training, progressive gait training including the instruction in the use of various assistive devices, such as canes, crutches, and walkers.
Therapist shall be knowledgeable in the specialized gait training involving the use of braces or prosthetic devices. Therapist shall also be knowledgeable in the fitting and instruction in the use of wheel chairs for nonambulatory mobility activities.
-The therapist shall measure, order and fit patients with various types of supports, including venous support devices, back braces, knee braces and other braces involving the use of upper and lower extremities and/or spine.
The therapist will provide instruction on brace application and removal, special care instructions and a complete description of the devices use for home activities.
-The therapist shall provide wound care activities, including dressing management and debridement as ordered by the physician and consistent with wound care protocols.
-The therapist shall provide adequate instructions, including pictures and/or written directions as necessary to the patient, the patient's family and/or care givers so that the patient's plan of care is complete and comprehensive.
Examples of such instructions include but are not limited to: home exercise programs, care of residual limb including wrap techniques, cross friction massage techniques, posture instructions, the correct use of heat and cold as an adjunct to self-care activities, and the proper use of issued equipment such as theraband, theraputty, braces, splints and assistive devices.
-The therapist shall contribute on a PRN basis to the multi-disciplinary care conferences with nursing, physician, social workers or other medical staff as necessary to assist in provision of a complete plan of care addressing all the patients physical, psychological and social needs.
-Provide for the clinical education of students with regards to patient care activities through the clinical affiliation for accredited programs on a PRN basis.
-Adheres to all documentation and billing policies for rehabilitation services.
-Adheres to all policies pertaining to the appropriate delegation of patient care activities in rehabilitation services.
-Completes assigned CQI activities as needed.
-Maintains current knowledge of research in the practitioner’s areas of practice. Applies timely research findings ethically and appropriately to evaluation and intervention processes.
-Maintains current knowledge of legislative, political, social, cultural, professional and reimbursement issues that affect clients and the practice of physical therapy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA accredited Physical Therapy Program at an accredited and approved college or university.
Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio.
BLS certification.
One (1) year's experience in Physical Therapy is desired. APTA Specialist Certification preferred.
Additional Info:
This position is full time and will be 99% Outpatient clinic setting and 1% Acute Care. Depending on case load can adjust a little.
Mix of orthopedic and neurological patients. Will see Pediatric to Geriatric patients.
Land based exercise and aquatic therapy.
Caseload:12-14 patients per day, Evaluations are given 1 hour to complete, Treatments are given 30 minutes.
Schedule primarily day shift(8hr shifts). 1-2 days could work until 7pm. Weekend Rotation would be about 4-5 times a year and its usually hospital bedside treatments.
The range is 60K-95KK depending on experience and they offer an excellent benefit package and will assist with some moving expenses.
