Matrix Providers is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in the Pain Management Clinic at the David Grow Medical Center located at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA.

  • Setting: Pain Management Clinic, Outpatient
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-12 hour shifts between 7:00am to 8:00pm (40 hours per week)
  • Compensation: $135,200 salary
  • Start Date: Pending credentials and security clearance, which can take 3-4 weeks.

The Physical Therapist (Pain Management) must have the following qualifications:

  • Degree: Doctoral degree required; will consider applicants with a Master's (or Bachelor's) degree in physical therapy on a case-by-case basis. Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from a Physical Therapy program acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General and accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Master's degree in physical therapy or Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002.
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions. Have at least 12 months of experience as a physical therapist within the preceding 36 months.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Job Duties are:

• Provide appropriate therapeutic procedures and provide a full range of therapy services in support of patient referrals. • All patient contact and care shall be safe, timely, result in achievement of realistic and documented treatment goals, and comply with or satisfy the intent of the referring medical staff. • Test and measure the patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and/or respiratory and circulatory efficiency. Record findings to develop or revise treatment programs. • Administer treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment such as a pulsed lavage unit and/or whirlpool bath, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. • Administer soft tissue mobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology. • Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. • Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modification as required. • Provide documented treatment and discharge recommendations to members of the staff in routine, emergency, and special cases as needed. • Provide input and attend rehabilitation team meetings, seminars, and quality assurance meetings. • Participate in peer review activities. • Provide clinical supervision to assistants, technicians, aides, and students. • Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient with physician oversight. • Implement interdisciplinary Pain/PT program in a Pain Specialty Clinic by working with and for a Pain Specialist on an interdisciplinary team.
