PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Helena, AL

We are seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Helena, Alabama on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This flexible opportunity is ideal for a motivated PTA looking to provide high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining scheduling autonomy. The PTA will support a licensed Physical Therapist in delivering individualized treatment plans to help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall physical function.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to restore function and improve mobility.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury-prevention techniques.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment approaches as directed, and maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including PTs, physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain compliance with ethical, legal, and facility policies related to patient care and documentation.

• Associate's degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Current Alabama PTA license or eligibility for licensure.
• CPR certification (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.

• PRN/as-needed position with flexible, variable scheduling based on facility needs.
• Ability to commit to shifts with reasonable notice and adapt to changing caseloads.
• Potential work settings include hospitals, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, or home health.
