Position Summary:

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care. This role plays a vital part in supporting patients on their recovery journey—improving mobility, promoting independence, and enhancing overall well-being. This position may require flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional mobility training.

  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress and responses to treatment.

  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, recovery strategies, and preventive care.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment in compliance with safety standards.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing improvement of therapy programs and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

  • Current Mississippi PTA license (or eligibility for licensure).

  • Previous experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting preferred, but not required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.

  • Proficiency with documentation and basic computer systems.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Flexibility to accommodate varying hours based on patient and facility needs.
