Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Phlebotomist II performs laboratory procedures according to established and approved protocols that require the exercise of independent judgment and interpretation. These tests are performed under the direction of a Medical Technologist, section supervisor or shift leader. This position will have a schedule of 16 hours per week with a rotation of Thursday and Friday week one, and Monday and Tuesday week two of each pay period cycle.
EDUCATION
- Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of phlebotomy training course or equivalent experience
REQUIREMENTS
- Current CPR Certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Certification as a Phlebotomist by a national accrediting agency, i.e. ASCP, NCA, etc. or certification by a national accrediting agency in a related field whose training includes phlebotomy instruction and satisfies the requirements for certification as a Phlebotomist at the national level beneficial
