We are seeking perfusionist for Transplant | ECMO in the Long Island, NY area.

An elite academic medical center in Long Island is seeking an experienced Clinical Perfusionist to join a nationally recognized team supporting high-acuity transplant and cardiac procedures. This position offers an opportunity to be part of one of the largest and most progressive perfusion programs in the Northeast, known for its cutting-edge technology, clinical excellence, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
Position Highlights:
- Work alongside a team of skilled cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow perfusionists in a state-of-the-art surgical suite.
- Be part of a program performing hundreds of complex adult and pediatric cases annually, including transplant, ECMO, and mechanical circulatory support.
- Access to advanced perfusion technologies and equipment supporting both routine and high-risk procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage the heart-lung machine and extracorporeal circulation equipment during open-heart and transplant procedures.
- Assemble, prime, test, and maintain perfusion circuits prior to bypass initiation.
- Adjust perfusion parameters based on patient physiology throughout procedures.
- Administer medications, blood components, and anesthetic agents via the extracorporeal circuit.
- Perform advanced blood therapies including PRP, platelet gel, hemofiltration, and autotransfusion.
- Monitor and observe equipment operation, obtain intraoperative blood samples, and ensure all safety and quality standards are upheld.
- Disassemble and clean perfusion equipment post-procedure.
- Maintain adequate inventory and supplies in coordination with internal departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Must have : ABCP Certification and New York State Licensure required.
- 13 years of clinical perfusion experience, ideally with transplant and ECMO exposure.
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to adapt in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
- Must be : Flexible with scheduling to accommodate surgical needs.
