Pathologist Assistant – Full Time (Day Shift)
Location: Albany, NY Area
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Days
Salary Range: $78k – $122k/year
A well-established healthcare system in northern New York is seeking a licensed NYS Pathologist Assistant for a full-time day-shift role within their anatomic pathology department.
Position Overview
The Pathologists’ Assistant plays a key role in:

Gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens
-
Supervising and supporting the autopsy service and daily morgue operations
-
Preparing specimens for histologic processing
-
Assisting and teaching Residents, medical students, and staff
-
Performing complex resections (e.g., Whipple, pelvic exenterations) under pathologist supervision
-
Ensuring regulatory compliance, quality standards, and efficient workflow
Qualifications
-
Active NYS Pathologist Assistant License required
-
Prior hospital experience with frozen sections, grossing, dictation, and autopsies

Strong judgment, organization, and leadership skills
